We are one of the bands within Kumeu Brass Inc and have 45+ mature players (girls & boys). There is no age limit, but the average age of members is 77 years, having previously played in more than 100 different New Zealand & overseas bands. If you’ve played in a brass band in an earlier life, come on over for a blow. We meet for rehearsal every Thursday afternoon, starting at 11:30 pm. Performances and gigs are regularly planned.

Vintage Brass has recently changed musical directors. John Knowles has taken up the baton to lead Vintage Brass forward into the future.
John has previously played cornet in Howick Citizens’ Band and Waitemata Silver Band, he is Currently a Life Member and previously Director of Music for the Band of the Royal Regiment of NZ Artillery and is a Current Member of NZ Veterans Band where he plays Flugel Horn
Vintage Brass until this year (2022) were performing under the baton of Graeme Gillies. He has been instrumental in the Vintage Brass success and is now Solo Euphonium.
